MSCS Superintendent Reaffirms SchoolSeed/MSCS Partnership During Meeting
(May 29, 2025) This week, Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) Superintendent Dr. Roderick Richmond met with the SchoolSeed Foundation’s Board of Directors, reinforcing the district’s ongoing partnership with the nonprofit organization which has supported educational initiatives in Memphis schools since 2009.
During the meeting, Dr. Richmond expressed appreciation for SchoolSeed’s contributions and emphasized the importance of collaboration between MSCS and community partners in achieving educational excellence.
Dr. Richmond, appointed as interim superintendent in January 2025, brings over 30 years of experience in education, including roles as Chief Academic Officer, Deputy Superintendent, and Transformation Officer. His leadership has been marked by a focus on developing a strong academic plan, strengthening community ties and fostering partnerships that enhance educational opportunities for all students.
