SchoolSeed Foundation Named Agency of the Year by Memphis/Shelby County Homeless Consortium
Memphis, TN – September 17, 2024 — SchoolSeed Foundation is thrilled to announce that it has been honored with the prestigious Memphis/Shelby County Homeless Consortium (MSCHC) Excellence Award for Outstanding Agency of the Year. This esteemed recognition highlights the foundation’s impactful work with the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) during the 2023-2024 period.
Over the past two years, SchoolSeed Foundation has transformed the lives of more than 100 young individuals by providing comprehensive pathways to personal development and long-term stability.
As one of only five organizations in Memphis equipped with a dedicated Youth Navigator, SchoolSeed plays a pivotal role in assisting young adults aged 18-24 who are facing homelessness. The other agencies with Youth Navigators include Catholic Charities, Methodist-Lebohneur, Communities in Schools, and Hospitality Hub. Through the YHDP, SchoolSeed offers a range of services including educational support, vocational training, mental health counseling, and life skills coaching. These tailored programs empower young adults to overcome barriers, pursue higher education or career opportunities, and achieve self-sufficiency.
